2017 Bianchi Intenso
The Bianchi Intenso was was developed by Bianchi to be a true all-round endurance race bike, so is ideal for anyone taking on a sportive or who just enjoys riding mid-long distances quickly but in comfort. It is also an all round road racing machine for riders who prefer a slightly more upright riding position or a bike with fewer headset spacers and a classic cut-down race look!
The design approach taken by Bianchi in designing the Intenso was to take well proven materials and construction techniques to deliver race-like performance allied to high levels of comfort with a relaxed riding position. While the Intenso does boast a slightly longer head-tube than either the B4P or HoC ranges, it does not put the rider into the "sit up and twiddle" position that some other manufacturers have used in their sportive models. Instead it relies on materials and carbon lay-up techniques to give the bike a smooth ride that irons out road clatter, while retaining a geometry that offers great handling, responsiveness and long distance endurance.
The slightly longer headtube eliminates the need for excessive use of spacers under the stem, thus reducing unnecessary flex in the headtube, but is not so long that it forces the rider into an unduly upright position - for the vast majority of riders who want a fast comfortable bike, there is nothing to be gained from an overly high position as it can lead to too much weight being carried through the lower back and compromised power transfer and handling.
The Dama Bianca range of Women’s specific bikes, including the Intenso, are fitted with female specific components, such as women’s saddles and handlebars that suit smaller hands. At Epic Cycles we specialise in tuning bikes to suit all of our riders, male or female, and that includes the fitting of suitable female specific components to any unisex bike – so if you are a taller female rider or you simply prefer the paintwork on the unisex models, that’s no problem at all as we will simply adjust the specification to meet your individual needs.
For 2016 Bianchi have introduced the new Intenso disc specific frameset, featuring 12mm through axle DT-Swiss wheels, flat mount Shimano hydraulic brakes and slightly longer chainstays to accommodate wider tyres for true all-road riding.
Following their success in the past five model years we are once again offering exclusive Squadra Edition models across much of the 2017 Bianchi range that feature superb upgrades at minimal cost - such as full Shimano or Campagnolo groupsets and higher performance wheels - and we also have extensive stocks of the standard specification bikes at everyday low prices.
