NERO Corsa Evo
The new NERO Corsa Evo builds on the success of the Corsa Classic, adding slightly more stiffness in the bottom bracket area for maximum responsiveness, while retaining the smooth ride and razor sharp handling of its predecessor. As with the original Corsa the design brief in developing the Corsa Evo was to deliver an exciting and engaging frameset where the emphasis is very much on high performance for racing or full-on high speed riding.
The Corsa Evo is constructed from Very High Modulus (VHM) carbon fibre, with areas of Ultra High Modulus (UHM) where additional stiffness is required, such as round the bottom bracket and the head tube. The careful placing of carbon fibres with different properties ensure that each tube section behaves differently, according to its function.
Available in three standard colours, the Corsa Evo is also available in custom colours of your choice for a modest charge - any colours not in stock will add around 5-6 weeks to lead times, depending on the time of year. But if there is a particular colour that you have always hankered after that's a small delay in the grand scheme of things!
Like all NERO Bicicletta bikes, the Corsa Evo comes in a range of standard builds, but is also available for custom specification.
Every standard build features full manufacturer groupsets - no corners cut. From levers to mechs, and brakes to chains, each model is built with complete groupsets from Shimano or Campagnolo.
The NERO Bicicletta range also features wheels and finishing kit from premium brands such as Mavic, Deda Elementi and Fabric.
NERO Corsa Evo
CLASSIC GEOMETRY: the Corsa Evo has a classic road geometry with a slightly shorter head-tube and longer top tube than is typically found in Endurance bikes (such as the Strada Evo). The rider is placed in a more performance orientated position, optimised for fast riding and sharp handling. The Corsa Evo is by no means an extreme stretched out "race-only" bike, but the emphasis is more on performance and agility than on optimising long-distance comfort and stability.
VHM and UHM CARBON FIBRES: the Corsa Evo is constructed from Very High Modulus (VHM) carbon fibre, with areas of Ultra High Modulus (UHM) where additional stiffness is required, such as round the bottom bracket and the head tube. The careful placing of carbon fibres with different properties ensure that each tube section behaves differently, according to its function. All of the carbon fibres used in the Corsa are stiff, as the emphasis is very much on performance, agility and low weight. But in some places around the frame some of that stiffness can be increased using UHM fibres without any negative affect on shock absorption or comfort. While the VHM fibres used in most of the tube sections are a fraction more flexible, as they also have a role to play in soaking up road vibration - delivering both increased comfort, but also making the frame more stable under load.
TAPERED HEAD-TUBE: the Corsa Evo's head-tube is reinforced with Ultra High Modulus carbon fibres, and the full carbon steerer tapered from 1 1/8" - 1 1/2" to ensure high precision steering.
DUAL DI2 / MECHANICAL COMPATIBILITY: the frame is internally cabled, with dual compatibility for both electronic (Di2 / EPS) and mechanical groupsets.
27.2mm SEATPOST: in order to provide enhanced comfort the Corsa Evo is fitted with a 27.2mm carbon seatpost.
25mm TYRE/WIDER RIM CLEARANCE: the recent trend in high performance wheels is for wider rims that deflect less when under load and so turn more of your effort into forward motion. Wider rims are designed for slightly larger tyres that fit better across the wider tyre bed, therefore enhancing aerodynamics while adding comfort at the same time. Wider rims and 25mm tyres weigh a little more than traditional narrower set-ups, but offer greater wheel stiffness and increased comfort in return. The Corsa Evo can accommodate both wider and narrower wheel/tyre combinations (up to 25mm).
