Bianchi Aria

PLEASE NOTE:  UK stock of the 2021 Bianchi Aria has already sold out until late summer 2021 – please visit the outstanding Orbea Orca Aero for a beautifully designed European alternative or the Cannondale System Six for an ultra aero North American option.

The new Bianchi Aria is designed to offer maximum aerodynamic performance without compromising the ride quality, handling and comfort you would expect from an all-round fast road bike.

Aria is Italian for “Air” – and cutting through it is what this bike is all about, using numerous features inherited from Bianchi’s pro-level TT bike, the Aquila.  While its stablemates, the Oltre XR3 and XR4, make use of patented Countervail technology to deliver unrivalled stiffness for sprinting and all-out maximal effort, the Aria is focused on all-round all-day use alongside pure aero speed.  And it certainly succeeds in this aim – the Aria is a rare thing; an aero bike that rides incredibly smoothly with no compromise in agility or responsiveness.

FULL AERO: To achieve fast rides from full aerodynamic performance Bianchi believe that it’s important that both the bike and the rider are as aerodynamically efficient as possible when taken together.  Using knowledge gained from research and development across all of Bianchi’s ranges, the ARIA’s advanced aerodynamic design has been heavily inspired by their extensive wind-tunnel testing and co-operation with Bianchi pro riders.  For the bike, full aerodynamic performance means  the shape of the tubes’ profiles and their structural combination to cheat the wind’s resistance, resulting in the lowest drag possible.  For the rider, full aerodynamic performance means creating a position that allows for the least air resistance – this can only be achieved with a frame and fork geometry that allows for an advanced tuck position that can be sustained, and an ideal racing geometry.  Aero frame plus aero rider position equals Full Aero.

The Aria is designed around Bianchi’s tried and tested race geometry – fast and well balanced, with the emphasis on swift riding without being an extreme uncompromising stretched position.  The resulting ride is highly responsive, comfortable and beautifully balanced.  Add a pair of clip-on tribars and you have a supremely aero triathlon machine, that has all of the ride qualities of a standard non-aero fast road bike.

All of this makes the Aria one of the most adaptable, practical, engaging and aerodynamic road bikes that Bianchi have ever made.  It also happens to look stunning!

Bianchi Aria/Aria Disc Geometry

Bianchi Aria

The first thing you notice when riding the Aria is just how punchy it is and how ready to respond to increased effort… Some aero bikes are good for straight-line speed but they’re single minded and don’t much like to deviate from that. The Aria is more than happy to flick from one line to another to navigate through a group or avoid something unexpected in the road… Verdict: A fast-reacting aero road bike in a race geometry for those with a need for speedRoadCC
