Bianchi Oltre
The Fastest Bianchi Ever
The Bianchi Oltre represents the most ambitious development project in Bianchi’s history, and the result is nothing short of stunning. This ground-breaking design involved a meticulous examination of every component, both individually and together as part of a fully integrated system. At the heart of this approach was the most critical component of all: the rider.
Our Verdict
The Bianchi Oltre is a bike that wants to be ridden fast, with its sharp acceleration and race orientated handling giving you immediate feedback when you stamp on the pedals.
Every element of the Oltre is well thought through and highly engineered, as you’d expect from a Bianchi. An aerodynamic frame is just the headline, with shrouded dropouts, near-perfect aerodynamic profile of the seat tube, and the Oltre’s striking front end with its aero cockpit and unique air deflectors adding to the bike’s drag defying credentials.
With three models to choose from – the Oltre RC for those favouring pure speed, exceptional frame stiffness and minimal weight; the Oltre Pro with Bianchi’s patented vibration dampening Countervail technology; and the Comp with its dedicated mould for a sleek finish – Bianchi have created a well rounded offering from a superiorly refined machine.
Optimising a bike in isolation from the rider serves little purpose. When it comes to aerodynamic drag—where the Oltre truly excels—the rider is by far the most significant component in the bike-and-rider system. The Oltre achieves two key aerodynamic goals: it enhances the bike’s efficiency and optimises the combined performance of bike and rider. And it does so while maintaining the hallmarks that the Oltre is renowned for: responsiveness, balanced handling, and smoothness.
The Oltre is available in three versions, all sharing the same aerodynamic frame profiles.
Bianchi Oltre RC (Reparto Corse)
Engineered for elite competition and the fastest riders, the Oltre RC is built for one purpose: pure speed. It features advanced high-modulus carbon fibres for exceptional frame stiffness and minimal weight, Bianchi’s unique head tube air deflectors, and aero-optimised RC components, including the fully integrated cockpit. To ensure peak performance, the Oltre is equipped exclusively with top-tier groupsets.
Bianchi Oltre Pro
Sharing many features with the Oltre RC models, such as air deflectors, the Oltre also incorporates Bianchi’s patented Countervail technology. This tried and tested Bianchi innovation delivers a frameset that is not only ultra-fast but also remarkably smooth, even on less-than-perfect road surfaces. For the latest model year (2027) the wheels have been upgraded to Reparto Corse 64mm deep carbons.
Bianchi Oltre Comp
The Oltre Comp features a dedicated frameset mold, designed without air deflectors – in the latest (2027) model year it has been upgraded to 64mm deep wheels and the same one-piece carbon cockpit that features in the Oltre Pro. It also boasts stunning new glossy paint finishes.
As expected for a bike of this calibre, no detail has been overlooked. From the drag-reducing shrouded dropouts to the near-perfect aerodynamic profile of the seat tube, every element of the Oltre is designed for maximum efficiency. The results are clear: a 17.1-watt savings compared to the previous Oltre XR4 at 50kph!
Arguably the most striking feature of the Bianchi Oltre is its aero-optimized front end, or “cockpit.” The aerodynamic advantages go well beyond the cockpit’s sleek profiling—it also allows Bianchi to maintain the same rider positioning as its predecessors, the Oltre XR4 and XR3, while incorporating a lower headtube and stack height. This in turn results in a smaller overall frame profile, reducing drag. In the geometry table below, we’ve included guidance on adjusting the stack and reach figures to account for the cockpit design, making it easier to compare with previous Oltre models and bikes featuring traditional cockpit geometries.
NOTE WHEN COMPARING THE NEW OLTRE’S GEOMETRY WITH OTHER FRAMESETS:
The new Oltre features a stem/bar design that adds to the stack of the frame, while reducing the reach. The entire system (frame plus cockpit) is designed to deliver the same rider position as the previous Oltre XR4 and XR3 models, but with a lower front end/frame profile. When comparing the new Oltre with previous models, or other framesets with a traditional cockpit geometry, please add 21mm to the stack height (Y) and deduct 7mm from the reach (X).
AIR DEFLECTORS
Bianchi’s unique air deflector system features on all RC and Pro models. Consisting of ‘spoilers’ that are fitted to outside of the headtube, the air deflectors channel air flow around the leading edge of the frameset and the rider’s legs to significantly reduce turbulence and drag.
AERO COCKPIT
All models of the Oltre come with an aero cockpit – the Oltre Comp features an exclusive and highly practical two piece Velomann stem and bars, while the RC and Pro models feature a one piece ‘Y’ shaped handlebar that optimally directs air flow through the cockpit area for the lowest possible drag.
