Beautiful all-conditions gravel and adventure bike
The Brother Mehteh is a premium Reynolds 725 steel gravel frame – a fast and engaging drop bar bike, designed for long days in the saddle over the most varied of terrain. The tyre clearances are well beyond what you’d find on the average gravel bike, giving you the option of taking your ride even further off-road. Whether that’s an after work gravel dash or a full blown bike-packing adventure. The personality of the Brother Mehteh (pronounced ‘may tay’) is reflected in its name – a Himalayan word for the mountain dwelling Yeti which literally translates as “Man Beast”!
As with all Brother products the Mehteh was tested rigorously in the field over a full 12 month period prior to release. It’s taken everything you can throw at it – from the rough tracks of the Jurassic Coast to the smooth gravel of the Bavarian Alps and the extreme 1,100km Atlas Mountain Race in Morocco. The original aim was to evolve Brother’s classic steel all-road frame the Kepler; creating a Kepler “on steroids” that could take on the toughest gravel tracks yet still be light, responsive and lots of fun to ride. The result is a true gravel bike that perfectly straddles the divide between a mountain and all-road bike.
The Mehteh is constructed out of premium level Reynolds 725 steel; a heat treated tubing famed for its strength and weight saving properties and an ideal material for the challenges of gravel riding and bike-packing. It is then ED electrocoated to prevent rust both inside and outside the frame tubing. This is now paired with a newly updated Brother colour matched carbon gravel fork up front – featuring full carbon construction, fender mounts, dynamo routing, ‘flip chip’ dropouts and triple cage mounts on each fork blade.
Other features include increased clearance for 700c x 50c or 650b/27.5″ x 2.2″ tyres, 3 x bottle cage mounts and stealth dropper post routing. The frame is also compatible with ultra reliable British Standard bottom brackets, a new UDH rear dropout for maximum groupset compatibility, and has a deep hard-wearing powder coated finish, designed to cope with the worst of British weather and under-tyre conditions.
The Mehteh oozes class, reliability and capability out of every tube – no wonder it has become a firm staff favourite!
