Curve GXR 4 (Kevin v4)

Curve’s world-beating gravel bike – updated!

The titanium Curve GXR v4 – better known as Kevin – has been tested like no other bike, racking up thousands of kilometers on adventures across South America, New Zealand, Switzerland, Swaziland, and beyond. It has also proven itself on the world stage, with victories in ultra-distance gravel races across the globe.

The name “Kevin” began as a tongue-in-cheek jab at the bike industry’s naming conventions, but the nickname stuck. Today, it’s proudly stamped on the top tube of one of the most versatile adventure bikes out there.

The latest updates to Kevin mark its most significant evolution yet. With refined geometry, wider tyre clearance, improved mounting options, and full UDH compatibility, the GXR v4 is more capable, more adaptable, and more adventure-ready than ever.

Curve GXR v4

Curve were building gravel bikes long before gravel cycling became its own category. Over the years, they’ve developed a broad range of high-performance options designed for every kind of gravel adventure – from fast, race-ready 700c builds to rugged, fat-tyred rigs built for bikepacking.

Every Curve bike is born from real-world testing and hard-earned experience. Their machines have been torture-tested in the toughest bikepacking races on earth, including Race to the Rock and the Rhino Run, proving their reliability where it matters most.

Curve GXR v4

The latest Curve GXR v4 has been fine-tuned to deliver a balanced fit and consistent ride quality across all sizes. Longer chainstays now provide clearance for larger tires, with the stays scaling proportionally with frame size—so taller riders enjoy the same stable handling and ride feel as smaller frames.

Stand-over height has been lowered across the range, making it easier to get on and off the bike in any size.

Up front, the new Curve 415 VGM Fork introduces a 15mm longer axle-to-crown measurement. To keep the fit dialed, Curve has adjusted head tube lengths accordingly, paired with a sleek integrated headset. The result is a slightly higher stack that supports a “slammed” front-end look while still offering long-ride comfort. Riders preferring a more upright position won’t need an excessive stack of spacers—just a cleaner, more versatile fit out of the box.

The Curve Ride 415 VGM fork has taken load carrying to the next level, with a whopping 8kg rating on each fork leg. That’s a total carrying capacity of 16kg. Featuring three cleverly designed mounts on each fork leg, the Ride 415 VGM fork can accommodate anything from extra water bottles to micro-panniers or fork-specific bags.

While many riders favour 1x drivetrains, the Curve GXR can be set up with a 2x drivetrain without any hassle. With SRAM UDH compatible dropouts, Kevin is able to handle the widest range of groupset options currently available.

The GXR v4 has been designed with gravel cycling versatility in mind. While the new geometry is optimised for 700c x 45mm tyres, you can go as wide as 50 mm tyres on 700c wheels. In 700c mode with narrower tyre options, the Kevin is ready for fast gravel missions, but you’ll be surprised how capable it is on chunkier terrain with a 50 mm tyre. With 650b (27.5”) wheels you can move into gravel-plus territory with 2.2” tyres which offer plenty of comfort for the most rugged gravel adventures.

The Curve GXR v4 comes equipped with rear rack mounts, fender mounts, 3 x bidon mounts, and top-tube “bento mounts”. With extra tyre clearance, and a comparatively long wheelbase for the gravel genre, which offers a more stable platform, the Kevin is ready for epic day rides or multi-day bikepacking adventures, not just smooth gravel cruising. There is ample room for bikepacking bags on all frameset sizes.
