The Broam is Felt’s most capable road bike ever. It’s an all-purpose, drop-bar beast that’s equally at home on pavement, dirt trails, and gravel roads. For as long as people have been riding bikes, there have been people riding bikes over long distances, traveling across the land, and experiencing the unique perspective that only pedaling can provide. All of this means that your bike will need luggage carrying capacity, reliability and comfort in equal measure. Add in Felt’s goal of producing bikes that are at the fastest end of every category, and you also have a bike that is versatile enough to take on everything from adventure and exploration, through leisure riding over a wide range of surfaces, to the daily commute. While its stablemate the Breed is all about playful mixed terrain gravel riding, the Broam is aimed at longer distance exploration.
Different wheel sizes give you the freedom to run whatever size or type of tyre you wish. That’s why Felt made the Broam compatible with both 650b and 700c wheel sizes. The Broam comes standard with 700c wheels, the traditional size for road bikes. They can accommodate up to 45mm-wide tyres, giving you the versatility to select your optimal tyre for whatever route you have in mind. If you opt to switch out the stock wheels for a set of smaller diameter 650b alternatives, you can fit tyres that are up to 2.1 inches wide.
Long days in the saddle—and especially multi-day tours through parts unknown— will require extra supplies. The Broam features a mounting location along the top tube for installing a “bento box” storage bag. The Broam also comes with a mudguard mounting kit in order to mount the majority of rain-combatting options on the market. It also features cleverly hidden rack mounts for both utility and sleek aesthetics. Simple integration means that when it’s time to ditch the baggage and race your buddies along the pavement or gravel, the Broam is ready.
The Felt Broam frame is built from high-strength superlite aluminium for a responsive and reliable ride, paired with a high-modulus lightweight carbon adventure fork for handling precision and a forgiving ride. Its custom butted tubing features smooth welds for sleek looks and high strength levels. The Broam’s geometry is designed for swift but comfortable riding, leaving you fresh at the end of long outings. It also offers high levels of handling stability when loaded up or travelling over rough ground.
Disc brakes are the new standard for drop-handlebar bikes in all riding conditions. They provide more stopping power, greater braking sensitivity, and more consistent performance than rim brakes, especially when the weather turns nasty. Complementing the Broam’s disc brakes are 12mm thru-axles, which provide a more secure interface over traditional quick-release skewers, along with better stiffness for quicker acceleration, better handling, and crisper shifting. Maximum control over any terrain, all day long. That’s what the Broam is about.
