Kinesis GX Race
Fast, Capable and Versatile Gravel Bike
The Kinesis GX Race is a fast gravel frameset from Kinesis UK – but it is so much more versatile than simply being the foundation for a gravel or cyclocross race bike. It is very definitely on the swifter end of the gravel spectrum, but it makes for a fantastic all-season ‘all-road’ bike, a lightweight multi-terrain touring or bikepacking bike, or even a tough and rapid daily commuter.
With Kinesis gravel racing geometry you are positioned perfectly for power transfer and balance at speed, and are a bit more aerodynamic in the drops or the hoods of the Kinesis GX Race. A longer reach allows for shorter stems to be used, which delivers better off-road handling at high speed. If your riding extends to bike packing trips then you can still load the GX Race bike up to reach destinations faster over a true mix of UK terrain. This is not a re-worked cyclocross bike – it is first and foremost a capable gravel or all-road bike – just one that is designed for speed!
Kinesis have paired the GX Race premium alloy frame with a top end Columbus Futura Cross ‘Plus’ full carbon monocoque fork. The Futura Cross Plus fork features cargo mounts, internal dynamo cable routing, masses of tyre clearance and an adjustable offset – all wrapped up in a lightweight package.
With through axles front and rear, clearance for 700c x 45mm or 650B x 50mm tyres, cable routing for any kind of group set, the GX Race is super adaptable. The Columbus Futura Plus fork is also fitted with a ‘flip-chip’ to allow adjustment of the rake of the fork – where you place the chip will depend on how you like your bike to handle – super fast reacting or stable and planted.
Frameset Features
- Tough yet lightweight 6069 series tubeset with tapered machined headtube.
- All new colour matched Columbus Futura Plus carbon fork with 12mm Thru-Axle.
- Inboard Shimano Flat-Mount disc mounts on frame and fork (maximum 160mm rotors).
- Seat stay mounts for mudguards and pannier racks. Bridges on chain stay and seat stay for fender mounting, runs 40mm tyres with full mudguards for clean winter riding!
- 700c x 45mm tyre clearance / 650b x 50mm tyre clearance.
- 2 x bottle boss mounts with multi position points plus top tube mounts for secure fixing of a top tube bag.
- Headset, Thru-Axles, seat clamp and all cable guides included.
- Internal cable routing and adaptable cable ports allow for both mechanical and electronic gear systems.
- BSA threaded BB for real world low maintenance riding.
- Semi-sloping top tubes on our smallest sizes ensure a great fit without compromising handling.
- Frameset includes frame, fork, headset, seat clamp, cable port hardware.

The GX Race boasts a premium alloy frame that incorporates features such as mudguard and rack bosses, in addition to the top tube and fork bag cargo mounts, allowing it to be built to excel across a variety of uses. Commute on it, ride bridleways and gravel with it, go bike-packing on it, ride the back lanes on it, race Dirty Reiver on it. The GX Race is a fast bike for any kind of riding.
The Kinesis GX Race comes to us as a frameset in a choice of Moss Green Metallic or Metallic Aubergine, which can then be built up into a complete bike in our workshop using components of your choice. The GX Race is a highly versatile bike, so with a huge variety of build options, wheel sizes, and tyre choices etc, it can be built to suit the exact type of riding that you have in mind.
