Orbea’s New Hardtail Takes You Further and Faster!
Feather-light and lightning-quick, the all new Orbea Alma is packed with technology to let you take it further and faster. The state of the art carbon or hydroformed alloy frame, featuring unique X-Fader technology, is compliant and efficient, constantly working to absorb vibrations, remove fatigue and let you concentrate on giving it your all. No other bike gives you a purer connection to the trail.
There is nothing purer than the feeling of riding a performance hardtail. Few other bikes offer that feeling of connection to the trail, however the trail chatter and vibrations can add fatigue and reduce control. Orbea’s innovative new hardtail brings new frame technologies aimed at giving a smooth, controlled ride, letting riders focus on giving it their all.
Careful control of tube profiles and materials, matched to Orbea’s X-Fader technology, most obvious visually in the seat tube/bottom bracket junction, helps absorb the trail chatter which adds to fatigue on long rides. X-Fader acts as a micro damper with the shaped seat tube engineered to absorb energy-sapping vibrations and impacts, so you can ride harder, faster, and farther. It’s not just about comfort—it’s about staying sharp and in control when it matters most.
The optimised rear triangle in the carnon models features flattened chainstays and seatstays to increase vertical compliance while resisting lateral flex, improving power transmission – all made in Orbea’s Advanced Carbon. This new carbon construction reduces vibration and gives the best riding performance, not to mention keeping weight under control; a painted, size medium frame without hardware weighs 1.080 grams.
The Orbea Alma’s “No Compromise Geometry” puts you in the position to connect with the trail. A perfect mix of nimble handling and capable descending with the added control of the longer 110mm fork.
With No Compromise Geometry riders can expect improved stability and control. A combination of the 67º headtube and a generous wheelbase plus the 75.5º downtube to enhance pedalling dynamics, especially on steep climbs, result in an overall solid handling experience. Other notable geometry points include a shorter seat tube exposing more seatpost, for better absorption and lower stand-over for more space to move the bike side-to-side when sprinting or cornering.
FEATURES
The Orbea Alma’s integrated carbon cockpit weighs 265 grams and provides more control and improved SIC integration for up to three cables. Available in 760 mm width, -17º stem angle, and 75 or 90 mm stem length, with Orbea’s integrated computer mount.
The light and infinitely adjustable OC MP10 Dropper offers 100mm of travel, with full control over saddle height, not limited to only two positions. The clamp is compatible with all saddle rail systems. All of this and only 419g.
With Orbea’s Squidlock remote, everything is just a thumb click away. The two levers control a dropper post and access three fork positions without removing the hand from the bars. Compact and reliable, Squidlock integrates with either Shimano or SRAM brake clamps and works with many suspension systems.
Other seamless features include Smart Clips, an innovative detail that makes it possible to fully insert a telescopic seatpost by allowing attachment of a bottle cage to the seat tube without metal frame inserts. The Alma also presents the new service window, a hatch on the downtube that gives easy access to the cables inside the frame, facilitating maintenance.
ORBEA MYO
Orbea’s MyO programme enables riders to personalize their bikes to an extent that is quite simply unique in the bike industry. The Orbea Alma Pro, Team and Ltd models are available with a fully custom coloured frameset at no extra cost – painted and assembled entirely at Orbea’s headquarters in Mallabia, in the heart of the Basque Country.
Orbea can offer this level of flexibility because they are not simply a warehouse for assembled bikes – they are builders, painters, technicians and mechanics. Orbea’s in-house manufacturing capabilities allow them to pay meticulous attention to every step of the MyO process so all you have to do is choose the colours and, if you would like to, add your name to the top tube. The MyO custom painting system is pretty straightforward and fun to use, and we are here to help guide you through the entire MyO process.
