Beautifully balanced all round road bike

Orbea designed the Avant for riders looking to extend their horizons, whether in terms of distance or in terms of the kinds of road surface they are riding over.   In other words, a bike that reduces fatigue, which can tackle rough lanes, and which is designed to ride long distances.  But it is equally suitable for riders wanting a fast paced bike for shorter outings, especially those who prefer a slightly more relaxed and comfortable riding position.

The Avant’s All-Road Endurance Geometry is a result of Orbea’s years of research and experience into the ergonomics of long distance riding over imperfect surfaces.  The distance between axles is a little longer than in traditional race bikes, which means the Avant is stable, easy to handle and has excellent vibration absorption for increased comfort. A higher handlebar position allows for a more relaxed position, which again reduces rider fatigue after a long ride, especially one over rough roads.

The Avant frame is constructed from Orbea’s hydroformed and triple butted aluminium tubes, with smooth welds – allowing them to  produce sophisticated tube shapes with lower weight, increased reliability and improved aesthetics.  The comfortable carbon fork has been designed to partner with the frame in allowing for larger tyres, disc brakes, and the fitting of full mudguards, which extends the versatility of the Avant even further into rougher back lanes and typically wet British weather!

The latest Avant also features Orbea’s ultra neat and practical Internal Cable Routing – the cables are carefully guided along the optimal path under the stem and through the head tube, with no rub or rattle.  This all results in super clean lines to the bike, while being easily maintainable.
