PURE ENDURO GEOMETRY
SLACK HEAD ANGLE: Great stability at speed through rough terrain.
LONG COCKPIT: Optimum balance and weight distribution.
ADJUSTABLE GEOMETRY: A simple rotation of the shock mount pin drops the BB 7mm and slackens angles by 0.5º.
LOW BOTTOM BRACKET: Corners naturally with low centre of gravity.
LONG WHEELBASE: Better stability at high speeds.
SHORT CHAINSTAYS: Agility and manoeuvrability especially at low speeds.
STEEP SEAT ANGLE: Better pedaling position even with generous suspension sag.
Of all the materials used to build bicycle frames, carbon composites offer the most advantageous blend of low weight, high strength and ease of manipulation. What Orbea do with the composites – the selection of materials and how they are used – is key to the final result.
LIGHTNESS: Optimized layups and fewer frame pieces reduce weight. High modulus and high strength carbon are blended to achieve the best strength-to-weight ratio.
STIFFNESS: Single uniform structures are better optimized to resist deflection. By reducing the number of frame pieces, larger carbon structures are tuned to deliver maximum stiffness without weight penalties.
RELIABILITY: Eliminating bonded areas increases strength and relent-less testing gives confidence. The lifetime warranty assures your Orbea will be a long-time companion.
FULL CARBON: Engineering a frame that uses as much carbon as possible of course saves weight but it also contributes to the sophistication and refinement of the Rallon.
OFFSET PIVOT LINK
Rallon’s concentric boost suspension, provides unique freedom to our engineers to finely design the kinematics so that pedalling efficiency, small bump sensibility, suspension progressivity and rear system stiffness to weight ratio can be independently optimized.
A high main pivot point provides minimum pedalling energy losses at the same time the seat stays and linkage positioning ensure just the right progressivity for outstanding bumps absorption and ultimate grip and control.
The suspension provides just the right progressivity (10%) so that can be used with any of the air or coil specifically tailor tuned Fox shocks, ensuring every rider gets the maximum performance out of the box.
Increasing rear axle spacing to 148mm over the 142mm standard moves the chainline outboard by 3mm, increasing the space available at the bottom bracket. This doesn’t sound like much but means that tire clearance an be increased without sacrificing drivetrain clearance or swingarm rigidity. All of it adds up to more durability, nimble handling and a bike that tracks better through rough terrain.
The asymmetric/offset design offers unique advantages beyond stiffness and low weight.
The shock is mounted in a position that offers incredibly easy access to damper controls, and without a frame support in the way, adjusting progressivity with volume spacers is easy to do right on the bike. By offsetting the shock, the amount of vertical space required to fit the shock and frame support is reduced, leaving room for a tool kit and a 500ml bottle with easy left-side access.
The 12mm offset of the shock allows the vertical distance taken up by the top tube, shock and frame reinforcement to be compressed. The top tube is therefore lower for extremely low standover.
ORBEA MYO – for years the flexibility of Orbea’s MyO programme has allowed riders to personalize their bikes to an extent that is unique in the industry. Now Orbea have taken it one step further by giving you the option of a fully custom coloured frameset at no extra cost, that is painted and assembled entirely at their headquarters in Mallabia – in the heart of the Basque Country.
Orbea can offer this level of flexibility because they are not simply a warehouse for assembled bikes – they are builders, painters, technicians and mechanics. Orbea’s in-house manufacturing capabilities and know-how allow them to pay meticulous attention to every step of the MyO process so all you have to do is choose the colours and, if you would like to, add your name to the top tube.
The MyO custom painting system is pretty straightforward, and we are here to help guide you through the entire MyO process.
