The Orbea Terra is a bike that blurs categories, because it’s just so very good in a huge range of riding conditions: gravel racing, endurance road riding, cyclocross, adventure racing or commuting – it handles them all…brilliantly and quickly. The Terra is not primarily aimed at the luggage hauling market – sure, it is more than capable of bike-packing as our own staff have shown, but its primary function is to ride quickly over hugely varied terrain.
Designed to be the ultimate all-road and all-round high performance bike, the Terra may just become the most ridden bike in your stable. It has a geometry that offers precise handling and all-day comfort over all surfaces. A little more relaxed than a pure race bike, with frame angles that deliver outstanding stability and control, whether hitting typical tarmac roads, dirt tracks or rough back lanes.
Tube stiffness is built into the power transfer areas using high modulus OMP carbon fibres to deliver a highly responsive ride, while huge tyre clearance and powerful hydraulic disc brakes extend its range well beyond fast road riding to agile and engaging dirt track adventures, or lighter off road riding – including cyclocross racing.
The Terra is also building an outstanding reputation for long distance adventure racing – its high performance ride and multi-terrain capability make it ideal for trans-continental races, where the in-built comfort and stable handing of the Terra are equally as important as sheer speed.
It’s true to say that the Terra is well established as a firm staff favourite – it is just so good at pretty much everything. It’s fast, engaging, light weight, tough, super versatile, and handles superbly. And means that the question “where shall we go today?” just got a much wider range of answers. As Orbea would say, “just get out and explore”.
Orbea’s MyO programme enables riders to personalize their bikes to an extent that is quite simply unique in the bike industry. All Terra Carbon models are available with a fully custom coloured frameset at a small extra cost – painted and assembled entirely at Orbea’s headquarters in Mallabia, in the heart of the Basque Country.
Orbea can offer this level of flexibility because they are not simply a warehouse for assembled bikes – they are builders, painters, technicians and mechanics. Orbea’s in-house manufacturing capabilities allow them to pay meticulous attention to every step of the MyO process so all you have to do is choose the colours and, if you would like to, add your name to the top tube. The MyO custom painting system is pretty straightforward and fun to use, and we are here to help guide you through the entire MyO process.
The MyO programme also offers a limited number of component options, but for full bespoke builds the Terra OMP is available as a bare frameset for full custom specification here at Epic Cycles – or we can take any standard specification as a start point and tailor any of the components to meet your individual requirements.
