Our Verdict
The Orbea Terra has been created for adventurous gravel riders, and it ticks all the right boxes when it comes to comfort and carrying capacity – striking a careful balance of smoothness and stability, without losing its swift ride feel.
With Orbea’s OMR carbon layup for both frame and fork providing strength and compliance, there’s a noticeable reduction in fatigue when tackling bumpy British gravel compared to many other bikes we’ve ridden. The ability to fit 50mm tyres with ample clearance also allows for more options when it comes to tyre widths and tread for changeable surface conditions.
Fully loaded with mounting points on the seat tube, top tube, down tube, and fork, alongside mudguard mounts, and with the updated Lockr XXL providing 35% more in-frame storage, the Orbea Terra has successfully positioned itself as one of the most versatile and well rounded gravel bikes on the market.
If your gravel riding is all about speed and rapid acceleration over less technical terrain or over shorter distances then the new Terra Race may be a better option for you.
Orbea’s OMR carbon frame layup strikes the perfect balance between strength and compliance, effectively damping harsh vibrations that lead to rider fatigue on rugged gravel. The unpainted frame weighs just 1040g, excluding hardware.

The updated Terra OMR carbon fork features extended legs and sculpted cutouts for enhanced bump absorption. It fits 50mm tyres (45mm if using mudguards) with ease and offers an additional 5mm of clearance on each side. Unpainted fork weight without hardware is 440g.
The Orbea Terra’s vibration-damping frame features a shorter seat tube with a slightly more relaxed angle, allowing the 27.2 mm seatpost to flex more—boosting comfort and reducing rider fatigue. Engineered to smooth out the ride, the slim top tube and strategically placed cutouts in the fork and chainstays, combined with the OMR carbon layup, help absorb trail vibrations.

MyO CUSTOM COLOURS & OPTIONS
Orbea’s MyO (MyOrbea) programme enables riders to personalize their bikes to an extent that is unique in the bike industry. All carbon Terra bikes, apart from the GRX 600 models, are available with a fully custom coloured frameset at no extra cost – painted and assembled entirely at Orbea’s headquarters in Mallabia, in the heart of the Basque Country. MyO coloured bikes usually take a little longer to arrive than a standard colour, for obvious reasons, but the result will be unique to you.
The on-line MyO custom design app is straightforward and slick, offering a massive number of the frame colour combinations, and is great fun to use. The MyO programme also offers a limited number of component options, but for individual tailoring or full bespoke builds please contact us here at Epic Cycles as we are able to offer virtually unlimited customisation options.
