Scott’s obsession with lightweight design comes from years of experience working with carbon. For the new Addict RC, Scott completely rethought how their carbon road bikes are made, fine-tuning every step of the process to boost performance even further. The result is impressive – a 300g weight saving compared to the previous model, without giving up an ounce of race-ready stiffness or speed. The top-of-the-range Addict RC Ultimate comes in at under 6kg in a size Large, and that’s including bottle cages and a computer mount.

Scott’s unique carbon molding process has enabled the creation of a completely hollow frame with no “dead-end” segments that require joining – a method that is only possible when the frame design is specifically tailored to suit it. Using an inflatable preformed core with a smooth surface around which the frame and fork are molded, the Addict RC frameset boasts an exceptionally clean interior, free of voids or wrinkles.

This precision allows excess resin to be extracted during molding, leaving only the material necessary for the stiffness and strength demanded by the Addict RC. The uniform molding pressure across the entire frame surface eliminates the need for additional reinforcement, achieving remarkable weight savings without compromising performance.

The geometry of the Scott Addict RC has been comprehensively redesigned to meet modern specifications, allowing for wider tyres while maintaining consistent handling across all sizes, with a lower frame profile that reduces aerodynamic drag figures and stand-over heights.

The lower top tubes and shorter head-tubes, especially in the middle sizes (S – XL), effectively increase the quoted reach figures, while reducing the stack figures – these changes are in turn offset by the new integrated cockpit design, which delivers the same rider position that was so effective in the previous Addict RC.

The Scott Addict RC comes equipped with 30mm-wide tyres as standard, but if you prefer something wider, we’re happy to make the adjustments for you. Its geometry has been optimized around 29-30mm tires, with a lowered bottom bracket to accommodate taller tyre profiles and a fine-tuned head angle and fork offset to ensure the razor-sharp handling expected from a race bike. That said, the Addict RC can effortlessly handle even wider tyres if preferred — right up to 34mm.

The new Scott Addict RC offers two seatpost options to suit individual preferences. The SL (SuperLight) seatpost is 10% lighter than its predecessor, thanks to an improved seatpost clamp design that’s more fiber-friendly. This allowed Scott to optimise the seatpost layup, reducing weight while enhancing flex and comfort.

For even greater comfort, the CF (Comfort) seatpost — available on the Addict RC 10, 20, and 30 — boosts compliance by an additional 30% compared to the SL version. The CF seatpost also features a flexible cover on the back, which conceals a magnetic bracket system. This allows the cover to be swapped for a Syncros rear light, perfect for shorter daylight hours.

Beyond its featherweight design and agile performance, the new Scott Addict RC sets a new benchmark for ease of set up. By standardizing bolt specifications and integrating a universal tool, Scott has revolutionized the adjustment process. Discreetly housed within the cockpit or handlebar drop, a T25 key allows riders to effortlessly fine-tune the stem, handlebar, seatpost, saddle clamps, and even bottle cages, while on the go. This innovative system not only enhances the user experience but also simplifies setup and maintenance for mechanics.
