The new Time Scylon is the result of a two-year design project, featuring a revolutionary new carbon layup that seamlessly blends high-strength and high-modulus fibres. This innovative construction delivers the perfect balance of performance, responsiveness, and stability—essential for all-out efforts on the road.

Dedicated to maximizing speed and efficiency, Time refined the Scylon’s aerodynamics using advanced shaping techniques and cutting-edge CFD analysis, achieving a 12% aerodynamic improvement—all without compromising stiffness. By enhancing their unique Braided Carbon Structure (BCS) technology, Time has not only preserved pedaling stiffness but also improved torsional stiffness by 9%, resulting in superior power transfer and responsiveness.

For over 30 years, Time forks have set the industry standard, and that expertise shines in the all-new Scylon fork. Designed to reduce drag without compromising stiffness, it also offers clearance for tyres with a measured width of up to 32mm. The Scylon is the first Time frameset to feature two distinct fork offsets, ensuring consistent handling and ride quality across all frame sizes.

The distinctive one-piece chainstay system was the heart and soul of the original Time Scylon. For the new model, Time has completely reengineered the ‘Powerbox’ system using ultra-high modulus fibre, reducing weight, increasing tyre clearance, and preserving the exceptional performance characteristics that made the original so revered.

Constructed from the same advanced materials and technology as the frame, the Scylon seatpost system offers seamless integration, secure and practical adjustments, and a sleek aesthetic. Its patented rail clamping system allows for effortless fore-aft adjustments, accommodating both -20mm and +10mm offsets. Designed for versatility, it is compatible with both 7mm round and 7x9mm oval seat rails, regardless of material.

THE ULTIMATE LAYUP

At the heart of what makes a Time frameset so special is its Braided Carbon Structure (BCS) – this is the weaving of dry fibres into complex bi-directional ‘socks.’ These tubes of fibre are easy to tune with different materials – Time currently choses from 16 filaments to perfectly tailor their layups. This process also allows something that is unheard of in the cycling world; continuous fibres that run the full length of a structure. With standard ‘prepreg layup’, fibres end where the fibre sheets do, creating inherent weaknesses.
