Workshop Services

Our technicians are some of the most knowledgeable and experienced in the business, so alongside from our standard service packages (see below) we can repair, service and tune all major categories of bike – road, gravel, MTB, commuter, touring, e-Bike, etc.

Our services are charged at £50 an hour – and we work to the nearest quarter hour. Examples of work that we regularly carry out:

  • Moving an old groupset and wheels onto a new frame (please note that we cannot fit parts to a frame sourced elsewhere, unless expressly agreed otherwise, for product liability reasons)
  • Fitting new or upgraded groupsets to an existing frame
  • Build-up of new frame and components (please note that we cannot fit brand new parts sourced elsewhere, unless expressly agreed otherwise, for product liability reasons)
  • Wheel building (we have a separate wheel building area, and have extensive experience of building wheels of every conceivable type and size)
  • Inner tube/tyre replacement
  • Tubeless tyre set up
  • Fitting and servicing headsets and bottom brackets
  • Swapping cassettes and chains
  • Gear tuning – mechanical and electronic
  • Di2, EPS, eTap diagnostics, firmware updates, set up adjustment – including adding new shift buttons, sequence changing etc
  • Brake re-alignment and upgrades – including conversion of cabled to hydraulic disc brakes, rotor upgrades etc
  • Fitting new bar tape
  • Fitting new contact points – including stems, saddles, handlebars
  • Pedal servicing and replacement
  • Wheel truing
  • Hub servicing
  • Fitting of power meters
  • Fitting of aerobars

Please contact us to book a service appointment, either by giving us a call on 01584 705034 or by popping into store.

You can also call into our store in person of course, especially if you have an emergency. For non-emergency work we’ll have quick look at your bike, and either carry out the work that day or book your bike into a service slot on another day (if we’re already fully booked, which we often are).

Please Note that all bikes brought in for service work MUST be left in a clean condition.

Service Packages

We offer three standard workshop service packages, ranging from an Essentials Service that is ideal before you take on a big event, trip or period of regular riding, to a full Major Service, where your bike is stripped down to the frameset with all parts being inspected and refreshed (including new bar tape and cables) before being re-assembled and tuned up.

During the peak season from March until September we book up very quickly with workshop appointments, so please contact us well ahead of time to check if we have any free service slots available. During peak season we may not have any service bookings available for bikes that were not originally purchased from us (naturally, we have to prioritise the needs of our existing customers).

All labour and lubricant costs are included. Any parts that need replacing are excluded (unless stated otherwise) – we will of course contact you to discuss options and confirm prices with you before any new parts are fitted. We will not continue with any work until we have spoken to you first, so accurate contact details are essential. Any worn/broken parts will be disposed of unless otherwise requested. Your bike must be collected within two weeks of being serviced or repaired. We reserve the right to charge for storage if bikes are not collected within a reasonable time.

Please bring your bike in a clean state – we will clean/de-grease the internal components of your bike (where stated), but we will not be able to work on your bike into our workshop if the bike is dirty – it doesn’t need to be professionally deep cleaned, but it does need to have been washed with some warm soapy water before being left with us.

Free Annual Servicing

An annual Essentials Service is free of charge for three years to the original owner of all bikes purchased and collected from ourselves (we are unable to offer this free service package on bikes that are home delivered, due to the costs associated with shipping).

Alternatively, if you would like to book a major service, involving a comprehensive strip down and rebuild of your bike, we will deduct the standard cost of your free Essentials Service from the cost of the major service you require.

Free annual servicing cannot generally be booked in our trading peak period from start of May until the end of July – we may occasionally have small gaps during this time that will allow us to carry our free servicing, but this cannot be guaranteed.
